You could get hit by a bus on the way to jumping in front of a train. We can't see the future, and therefore can't even suppose a deterministic relation between cause (X) and effect (death), assuming there is a cause where death certainly follows (possibly having your head chopped off?). Now, the "related question" of how will Lost end is similarly unanswerable. Even the writers don't know. There is no answer – even if you have a terminal illness or you’re planning on committing suicide, these merely increase the likelihood of your dying from that cause.
